2022 Fundraising Letter

Our tennis program can only grow with the help of your input, volunteering and donations!

PATA’s mission is to promote and support tennis for everyone in the Prescott area.   PATA’S main goal is to grow tennis in the community, by providing tournaments, leagues, tennis-themed events, youth school programs and activities designed to promote tennis.

Unfortunately last year due to the pandemic, and the courts being closed at the tennis center, PATA was unable to host any tournaments or tennis events.  Consequently we did not have a fundraising campaign, however three of our Super Sponsors from 2020 offered to roll their donations over to 2021.  Thank you Super Sponsors – Tim Anderson Realty, Raskins Jewelers and The Yavapai Humane Society Thrift Store – your generosity was much appreciated!

This year we were able to host two tournaments – the Memorial Day Tournament and the Mile-High Tournament (a sanctioned tournament) with a total of 135 players.

In October we held a fundraising event to support a local player who is a paraplegic in need of a special tennis wheelchair.  The event raised $5700!

The 13 USTA League teams were very active and had 146 participants.

The junior program averaged 40 players for junior sanctioned tournaments.  Twenty four players went to JTT sectionals.  There were 8 team challenge competitions that averaged 25 players.

We were unable to offer the elementary school kids’ tennis program in the schools due to Covid, however we are hoping to be able to bring the program back in 2022.  We are looking for a volunteer to

oversee the kids’ tennis program next year.   If anyone is interested please email PrescottTennis@outlook.com

We are planning some exciting events for 2022: The Memorial Day Tournament in May, The Mile-High Tournament (sanctioned) in August and the Yavapai County Tournament in September. In addition there will be four junior tournaments in the Junior Summer Circuit.  Other events include a Mixed Doubles Mixer Grand Prix in April, a Wimbledon Social Event in June, and a Doubles Grand Prix Event in July.

PATA has always depended on our members, supporters and talented volunteers to achieve our goals, so please donate to help advance tennis in our community.  To take advantage of the tax deduction for this year, please donate by December 31st.  If you are interested in becoming a tournament volunteer, please email PATA at PrescottTennis@outlook.com

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Natalie Fisher – Vice President
